Power surge shuts down my PC. Riots useless game client fails to connect after 20 minutes attempting

Why the heck is the client so awful when it comes to attempting to reconnect to the game? I even restarted AGAIN after the power surge and it still took FOREVER to get the stupid client to successfully log back in. This is absolutely ridiculous. There is NO other game out there that is so incapable of reconnecting to an existing match.

Update: I WAS NEVER ABLE TO RECONNECT UNTIL THE MATCH ENDED. THANK YOU SO MUCH RIOT.
