[Client] Unable to connect to chat
was wondering if anyone else was experiencing this? I am in the southwest area, and I think my internet comes out of either denver or albuqerque. Can join lobbies and get into games(had to manually invite friends).

Last night random (nasty) lag spikes with perfect ping, no chat/friends today.
I have to say the timely and helpful forum mods/customer service reps are doing a fine job helping us out. In fact after pouring over the numerous posts about this issue since 2012, I have seen ZERO Riot related posts on the subject. Bang up job guys, keep up the good work... (to sarcastic?)

Went to smoke a cig after posting this, tapped reconnect and it actually went through. Still a MAJOR problem that Riot should at least pretend to look into. (I'm not taking my sarcasm back, that you can keep for free!)
I live in the Mid West area and am having the same difficulties, from what I have seen the chat is disconnected not only between friends but also in the pregame lobby. On an older post (from 3 months ago) there is a similar issue that popped up and some users found that setting your calendar forward one day, closing the client, and than opening it again solved the issue. I have not tried that yet but I wish you the best of luck, I'll post the board post I referenced at the bottom of this one if you want to read it.

same for me and 2 other friends on curse, tried setting my calendar forward one day but it didn't work, making me think its a server issue not my computer issue
Yup might get banned for leaving because of it can't connect to game either

friend is also having the same problem, were in south west texas and only she has the problem not me, wont connect to chat

I have the same problem, I am so glad and furious that people are experiencing the same thing. I hope riot is at least seeing these posts, and are trying to act upon the issue. I am connected to the Denver servers I believe as well.
Not working for me either, I'm in the middle of Kansas, my isp is Century Link if everyone else has that...

Yeah, having the same problem, chat isn't working, I'm in Boulder, CO, using college campus internet, not sure if it is comcast or not.
I've been waiting for Comcast to not be cancer for years now...

No Curse or Comcast yet I'm having the same problem. Midwest; CenturyLink. I hope it's fixed sooner rather than later....
I'm having this problem out in Utah to. I'm using Comcast. However, PBE is working just fine for me.

I am in the SW area as well and chat servers are down for me. The game seemed to having lag spikes yesterday but I do not know if it is related. Never had problems before.

same for me, i would restart the client and it would change nothing.
Same here, I was in a ranked game and got DC from server for a second.. And then couldn't view end game stats... Tried to invi a friend to another game and cannot connect to chat or invi..
