Battlecast Skarner Ult???

So just played last game with BC Skarner (pretty cool in the end albeit the shield is lackluster :P) and got to the point where I sped up, and ulted their Zed. He flashed away, took no damage, no cc, and my ult went on Cooldown.....

No one on their team had QSS, Cleanse, Mikael's or anything of the sort. Anyone else run into this yet? Will be putting it to the test with some friend a bit later but it ended up kind of screwing my team over.
