Poachers Knife.. bugged?

I recently played jungle and I thought I might try to buy the poachers knife.. tho I noticed that when I smite the large monsters and killed it, sometimes the bonus gold and movement speed does not apply.. is it bugged or something?

This has probably been a problem for months. If only there was a way we could of known sooner...

Are you using it in your own jungle, or the enemy's? The bonus gold and movespeed only applies when you smite a large monster in the ENEMY jungle, not your own.
