Kicked out of champ select losing -3 points?

I was kicked out of champ select with the error saying, "you failed to choose champion" so i ended up having to wait 5+ minutes and losing -3 points. The problem is, is that right when it was my turn to chose a champion it instantly kicked me out. It even made the clashing type sound once its your turn to pick and your icon goes yellow. 1 second after when i was about to choose a champ it quickly kicked me out.
