Client - Friend List does not update

With the new friend list that shipped with patch 5.5 (as well as for the brief period it was tested in 5.4(?)), it no longer updates. What I mean by updates is specifically when people log on or off, the new names do not appear and the old names do not disappear. Also, when people change status (ingame, online, away), it does not update their position in the friends list (top to bottom.) Instead, I have to "manually refresh" my friends list by checking then unchecking the "show offline friends".

I have my friends list set to "sort by status" and i usually leave the "show offline friends" box unchecked.

edit: Also, I've found that when people log off, their summoner icon will sometimes disappear from the friends list but that's all. And new people logging in don't show up at all.
