Sion Ults the Wrong Way

Last night I was playing a game with Sion in the top lane. I was pressuring Garen really hard, and so the enemy jungler and support came up to help him a few times. I only pushed hard when my ult was up so I could have some kind of escape ready.

When I tried to use my ult to escape, it sent me in the wrong direction--into the enemy--resulting in my death. This has happened to me 8-10 times while playing Sion, sometimes more than once in a game. I've played somewhere between 70 and 100 games with him, so not all 8-10 times can be attributed to n00b Sion Syndrome or mouse placement accidents.

Has anyone else ever had this problem?

I think I might know what's causing this, actually! It all comes down to camera control and what happens when you ult if your camera is not centered on Sion, AND your mouse is in one of the corners of the screen.

Think about it: the way Sion's camera is locked on himself while charging is unlike any other mechanic in the game. I wouldn't be at all surprised if, when you press R, sometimes he begins ulting to where your cursor is, then your camera is snapped to him; while other times, your camera is snapped to him, moving your cursor relative to Sion's position, and THEN his ult picks its direction based on where your cursor is.

Note: this is just an untested hypothesis I just came up with. I'll try to test it at some point later today, maybe post a video if I can reproduce the issue.

I know exactly what you are talking about. If Sion ults directly adjacent to any minion, friendly or otherwise, there is a chance that his ult will be redirected into a random direction, similarly to when 'creep block' causes a champ's move path to go haywire. I created a video in a custom game and posted it here a few times hoping it would get some recognition, but no luck so far. Hopefully someone with the power to fix this will see this post, cause it's made me die or miss kills more times than I can count.

yes yes yes, i have this issue too... before it was ok with sion, after a update , now i have problems with sions directions, on the first ulty and the last ulty (dont know the names) i report this already to riot, they didnt take any actions...

i think its related because i play with mouse, so give my ultys direction with the mouse, but he alwaus go wrong... actually he follows the first nearby attack range Always..

and that is not funny, because sometimes i went to escape..

thats also the reason that i stop playing sion :(((
