Patch 9.18 Seems to Have Broken MSI Afterburner Compatibility

Spiralzebra·9/12/2019, 3:07:15 PM·10 votes·5,455 views

After updating to 9.18, MSI Afterburner (and by extension RTSS) seem to no longer be compatible with League. As soon as you try to load in a game, it just bugsplats immediately. I set my own fan curves with MSI Afterburner and so not being able to have it in the background is annoying. I also use RTSS to monitor my temps and usages during gameplay, so I hope Riot fixes this soon.

Has anyone else experienced this recently?

Hello man, I was going crazy about this. I restarted my computer, re-installed the game and tried everything I could. When I disabled MSI afterburner it just worked.

Let me know if you get an answer or know how to fix this!

Thanks, this worked for me too. I had to disable the Gigabyte Aorus software too, so maybe something with monitoring software in general causing the issue.

Yes the same thing happened to me. Seems that league is super sensitive to alot of other software.

Hey Abureu! So i was constantly having Bugsplat issues every time i was about to load into a game. I tried uninstalling league, checking for corrupted files, just simply closing the app, but the only thing that fixed the issue for me was to close MSI Afterburner and it then immediately started working again.

So i just wanted to say thank you for putting this out there! It helped me :)

Updating to RTSS 7.2.3 seems to have resolved this for me.
