Game doesn't load

Hey guys, since the new windows update rolled out I've been having an issue. Whenever I load a game all the portraits (?) stay blank and the champions and icons don't load. Whenever I click on something windows tells me that It's waiting for a response and I will eventually just have to close the client. But here's the thing. I can actually join the game when the game has started but it is very unpredictable when the game actually starts. So most of the time I get flamed by my team and the enemy gets a headstart, I've lost my past 9 ranked games because of this issue and I'm desperately waiting for a fix.
