I can't even open the game! HELP!

listen, I've played this game before, and its amazing. however, when i tried to download it again, as soon as i try to open it, it says "PVP.net kernel has stopped working. a problem caused the problem to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." I've waited and waited for weeks but nothing at all. It does this every time I open it. Anyone know how to fix this?
