I've been using thresh and bought targon's brace. The whole point is that it wasnt executing the minoins. Obvious questions (yeah i had charges for the execution, allies near yes, etc). Only with thresh, it was ok with leona...
the execute is melee only thresh is ranged

Thresh is the only champ, i think, who has 3 different atk animations based on his range from the target. Yes Targons only works with melee so if u want to use targons on him u have to be RIGHT next to whatever creep your trying to execute. Me personally, pisses me off to know end and usually take the coin. :D
I see people report this as a bug all of the time. It's not a bug and it works properly on thresh.
UNIQUE Passive - Spoils of War:
Melee basic attacks execute minions below 200 Health. Killing a minion heals the owner and the nearest allied champion for 40 Health and grants them kill Gold.
Awesome guide. Getting into thresh. Since the passive isn't working on thresh what would be a good gold item alternative? I usually go with 
. What are your thoughts? I like it because it builds from sightstone and you collect coins for the quest which is also cool because you have to collect souls in lane as well...and in late game you have an extra slot because you don't have ruby sightstone taking up one slot.
