[Client] Can't Communicate to Team

Whenever I get into a game, the client will say I've connected to the in game chat, but when I type and hit enter, the chats don't send. I can't see my teammate's chats either. Also, when I get into a game, a chat box appears, prompting me to send a message to a new player. I can't close the chat, and any attempts to forcibly remove the window results in a bug splat. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game with no change. Any help/feedback is appreciated.
