[Gameplay] Unable to view chats in champion select or after the game

Hey guys,

I've tried contacting Riot support ( ticket 19689247 ) but they haven't been too helpful so far. I'm having a problem that is actually really impacting my gameplay. When I am in champion select for any game, I get the system messages that me and my teammates have joined the chat, but I am unable to see any of the messages that they type and send. I am able to type and send but I am also unable to see what I have submitted as well. I have found by playing with friends and others that they are able to see the chats that I type and send even though I am unable to. So every game starts with me explaining that I am unable to see their chats and that I'll fill based on which champions and spells the rest of them select. It makes enjoying the game very difficult! :(

The same thing happens just after matches as well. I have logged in on both a PC and a Mac and I get the same problems so I'm thinking that it has something to do with my account and not the machines I'm playing on. Has anyone else experienced this issue? If so, have you been able to find a resolution???

I believe I have figured this out. Maybe this will help someone. I have league of legends installed on a different hard drive than what I boot on. I created a shortcut for my desktop. Whenever I launch the game from this shortcut, I'm unable to see mine and others' chats during champion select and after the games. If I drill down to the file on my second hard drive and launch it from the folder it is installed in, it works fine.
