"We have restored this installation to an older version of League of Legends. Now we'll try to patch it up to the latest version" "An unexpected error occurred while logging in"

Get this message every time I open the client. I can't log in. It doesn't try to patch up to the latest version. What exactly is the point of telling me this if: a) I already had the latest patch installed b) I can't even log in

I tried the Hextech Repair Tool, did not fix it. Tried to Initiate Full Repair, did not fix it and other recommendations from the link: https://support.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/201761944-Login-Issues Can you guys give me options on how to fix this error? Thanks.

I am getting the same issue. I was getting this same issue a few patchs ago but it stopped after one of the more recent ones. Since the ranked changes (which i dont even think was a patch) I'm getting this error again and cannot join games.
