Sometimes unable to use abilities via keyboard. Anyone else?

Ever since the last patch, I've been running into a -luckily infrequent- bug where I am unable to use my QWER keys to cast abilities. I cannot recall using B, and I cannot use items with the associated numbers. I have found that completely closing the game and re-launching it fixes the issue, but that takes a lot of time, and clicking the buttons makes landing most skillshots nearly impossible. No attempt to fix the issue has resulted in any sort of success, other than the total relaunch.

I'd think it was my keyboard malfunctioning, but I can still use it to type in chat and use pings. Additionally, using "ctrl" and hitting Q,W,E,R will level up the ability, but I cannot use that method to actually cast it.

I am using a Logitech G710+ keyboard with up-to-date drivers. I have not seen anyone else mention this issue, but I hope that making this thread will draw attention to the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am also having this problem and have for about a year now. I have no idea what is causing it but i start a game everything works fine until the match starts. Then none of my keys work 1-7, Q,W,E,R,D,F, or even P to go to store at the start of the game. The only way i can get keyboard to work is force close the game and restart it. I hate having to do it because it is a disadvantage to me and my team. If anyone knows a fix to this it would be great. I am not using a gaming keyboard just a standard Dell keyboard. Hopefully RIOT will post a fix. There are many past posts about the same issue in the archived forums with no fix.

I think it's either a bug or a hacker program. Kind of like that one incident where you lose control of your champion and lets say youre running away then out of no where, your guy turns around without you doing a thing... it could be some kind of key jamming program because I tried to repeat it on my own in other games with other people and it won't happen again but when in the game where it does happen, it happens everytime when you're trying to use your ability on someone or trying to make a kill. you hit that key like 3...5...10 times and maybe 1 fist and it still wont work until the guy youre trying to kill is long gone. Or you're trying to skill shot someone and your mouse or the target direction thingy goes to another direction immediately as you click the button

I had this problem too but I've found the cause and a solution to the problem. Sometimes I just could not use any spells or pings or anything, it was almost always when there was some action going on, the tension made me flex my hand wich made me unintentionally hold down the CTRL key wich rendered all my buttonmashing useless. I have started to get used to the keyboard now and it does not happen as much anymore but I also but all my abilities on secondary quick cast on CTRL+Q and so on. That solved the problem for me
