Champ Select Freezing result in Dodge?

So I just wanted to play a nice game of league and continue my climb through ranked when the lobby just freezes in champ select(not an internet connection problem because I was on voice chat with friends the entire time without it dropping). Then it says everyone left and I'm stuck in lobby until I re-open client and given the LP deduction penalty. This is the first time this has happened to me since season 5 and I really don't know if I should keep playing ranked with this problem out there..
