LoL official screen saver app for OS X prevents display turning off/sleep

The LoL screensaver application for OS X prevents the display from turning off (set in the energy saver preferences pane, under system preferences), and also prevents the computer from sleeping (also set energy saver preferences pane).

It's a fantastic screensaver, but if my display doesn't turn off anymore, it's unfortunately not very useful, and horrible for energy usage.
