New champ select lagging/crashing

Anytime i que up for a ranked game and get into the new champ select it will lag out or crash. Everything goes smooth for a few seconds, then i will see someone picking or banning a champion and the timer will go all the way down to zero. It will stay like this for a few minutes then i will hear all the champion sounds and be kicked out the match making process. This causes me to get a que penalty and to lose LP. It is getting very frustrating. I can get into ARAM and normal games just fine, its just the new champ select for ranked matches.
