Interactions are weird

So Yesterday I played as a Kassadin in toplane against an urgot. Very fine but then as I started trading him, he casted his e. Still very fine. I tried to dodge it with my ultimate and unfortunately I casted my ult in the second he touched me with his flip, causing me to get knocked into another dimension. If im impacted by cc, i shouldnt be able to cast certain spells.
