My friends and I played some team ranks and we went 5/5. After we finish the last game of are promos we get bronze 4 sadly and are really confused. I'm putting this in the bug section because I think their is a problem with your ranking system and how teams are placed. Last season we went 4/5 and got silver 1 so im confused on how we got worse for doing better? Please help us riot and the rest of the league of legends community and fix this possible bug.

Your placement is no longer entirely based on your 10 matches. It has almost everything to do where you were ranked prior to the season starting (and also keep in mind that your MMR may be lower or higher than where you were sitting).
Jus Clownin1 votesThis is inaccurate. when your MMR is lower than your rank you lose more LP than gain. Prior to reset i was gaining 20-25 LP and losing 17. I was gold 3 at Preseason close. I went 8/2 in my placements and placed Silver 2. This is riots way of forcing us to play more ranked. If we all started out where we left off there would be zero reason to try to climb but a few tiers each season.

The reason people get placed lower than their old rank on average is because of the MMR soft reset; you get placed after losing a bunch of MMR, but it is still based on your MMR. This happened last season too. It is possible to get the same rank or higher, but your MMR must have been much higher than the Rank you had.
The old way, maybe in Season 3 and prior I think (coulda been 4 when I started), your new placement was entirely dependent on your placement matches even if you were prior ranked which meant a Plat could do bad and get stuck in Bronze, or a Bronze could get lucky and get into Plat.
I'm not going to make guesses on why they do the soft reset (there are several possible reasons); the only point I'm addressing is how you get placed after being ranked before.

It cant be based on my MMR. Prior to this season I have never placed nor even been demoted to silver. If it was based solely on my MMR i wouldn't of placed silver. Last season most people placed behind but you COULD place ahead by queing with someone in a higher division and doing well in placements (My other account placed Gold 1 from Gold 5 and quickly got plat after). Riot is scaling back everyones ranking to re-start the climb, just like Diablo 3 or any other game with "seasons" or "ladders". Almost every player dropped a tier, and sometimes two tiers in some instances.

You did read the part about the soft reset, right? I did mention it. It isn't unique to this season either.
I did, but it doesnt make any sense. Last season I placed where i left off on this account, on my other i placed ahead 4 divisions (By queing with a plat player during placements). This season i dropped 4 ranks to a rank I have never been prior, despite winning 80% of my games during placements (Even though I was gaining more LP than losing, signifying my MMR was higher than my current division). How does this make sense and/or is ok with anyone?

You think that's bad I got 3-7 last time and got in Silver 2. This time I went 8-2 and I'm in Bronze 5
