Patch Download infinity

Ok, so I got on this morning to play some games with my friend and I saw there was a patch so I immediately left the computer to go do other stuff. when i got back to my computer i found the download had kept going like a backwards stopwatch? it just kept rolling up through tens and hundreds of numbers until i decided to stop it because i was scared it might keep going if i let it and since the original download was 32 mbs it was reaching 260+ it said. after i stopped it and tried to start it again it told me my league files were corrupted and that really didn't surprise me, but then when it started downloading again it did the same thing. I let it run as far as it wanted this time and it worked...? i dont know if i have multiple multiple sets of multiple duplicated files in there but its not on the actual login screen now doing its patches and seems to be okay honestly i started writing this while it happened and didnt expect it to work but if this really is a bug and not just a visual glitch then im worried for the space on my computer.
