Thresh's auto attacks with Relic Shield doesn't activate execute!

I play support every now and then, and when I do, I feel like going thresh. I go Relic Shield early and try to get the melee minions and the tanks for the stacks I have, but when I auto attack them at the proper HP it should take to kill them, it doesn't! It will activate it's effect if I last hit it, but it shouldn't have to be that way given how the item works. Is it just me?

Thresh is a ranged champion EVEN THOUGH you can attack close to a enemy target and he HOLDS the sickle in his hands in a melee type fashion it still counts as a ranged attack, a clarity issue but I honestly hope Riot will never change it cause I love Thresh (and I think Clarity in terms of design can be quite BS and constraining at times)

You will just have to make sure you last hit minions in order to share gold with an ally

Thresh is ranged, not melee.

If you read relic shield, you will see a helpful part of the tooltip where it says only melee champions activate the true damage execute portion. The execute is separate from the gold sharing and healing effect.

Thresh is a ranged champion.

Thresh CAN proc Relic Shield. I've seen it, I've played with it. He has both a melee and ranged auto attack animation. You should only proc the charge if you're in melee range.

(the problem seems to be that it's hella buggy. I've seen Thresh proc it using a ranged attack, and not proc it at all by being in melee range.)
