League won't open 2019 (Mac)

My league out of the blue just stopped working. I've tried re-downloading it multiple times after erasing all of its files yet still whenever I click on it Finder pops up an error 'You can’t open the application “League of Legends” because it is not responding.'. Nothing even opens, the icon doesn't bounce, it's just an immediate error and none of the old fixes seem to be working.

Also having this problem, but for me it happens intermittently. To get it to work again, I have to restart my laptop, then I can play for a day or so before it stops opening again.
