Destroying Illaoi's Vessels counts towards "Wards Destroyed" Stat [Gameplay?]

Was in a ranked match yesterday and afterwards I looked at the stats on the LoL match history website and it showed Dr. Mundo as having destroyed 48 wards that match. I'm doubting this because he doesn't have a sweeper and he did not purchase any pink wards. He was in top lane vs Illaoi and it seems that when her Vessels are destroyed they get counted as wards. To replicate this just go into a match vs Illaoi and destroy her Vessels throughout the game.

This isn't anything major or gamebreaking, however it does unfairly boost a Stat for a champion, and I feel like the "wards destroyed" Stat should accurately reflect only actual wards that player has destroyed through the match.
