Ranked Three's Missing

Last night we were playing ranked three's and randomly the queue ended saying something like 'No Active Session Found'. Now the option for ranked three's is gone, but there is no service status message about it or anything. Is it because the season is drawing to a close?

I thought Ranked 5's and Ranked 3's were only available at certain times and on certain days, as of a few months ago. It could be you got outside that window.
