So I had the common problem that when you click on the client it will bounce up and down once then stop. I heard that re-installing league would help so I did. When the client opened it was fine. I played a few games then turned the computer off. When I turned the computer back on and tried to open league I encountered the same problem. So fast forward a couple weeks I tried re-installing one more time and it worked at first like last time. But this time when I tried to open league the new client appeared and it stated what's on the title. It only give me the option to exit so I can't play. Any ideas? I don't think the link will work but its worth a try. (its a picture of what the client looks like.

Edit: Forgot to mention I have a Mac

The problem is the new riot client, it is garbage.

Solution:

1: Navigate to your League of Legends install path "C:"install path"\Riot Games" 2. There should be a second folder in the "Riot Games" path called "Riot Client" 3. Delete "Riot Client" folder 4. Go in to the "League of Legends" folder 5. Run league of legends from there You should be able to boot into the old client without a problem and login and play

If you encounter the problem again, just repeat the same steps!

This worked for my non-admin school computer without a problem. I assume it should work for everyone

Share and like if it helped you!

I have this problem also. After the first occurrence I re-installed LeagueClient and this ran fine. After I closed the client and tried to open it again, then the 'Couldn't update' dialog appeared again: "Couldn't update Something went wrong with the update, even after repairing. Please contact our player support wizards so they can work their magic to get you a fix."

Edit: iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014) running macOS High Sierra Version 10.13.6.

I am getting the same error on two different PC's on my university's campus. What's weird is that other people are playing the game right now just fine. I'm not sure what's wrong.
