Game glitch? only chat appears on screen

I had to play an entire game with only the chat working/appearing on the screen. I was able however to use keyboard shortcuts but that is all. Mini map did not appear on screen either so I could not see what was going on in the game, this eventually resulted in me dying 9 times via ganks and so on because pings were not see-able without the map as well, along with this my teleport was not use able either in result of having no mini map. Long story short the game pretty much had a massive glitch and with multiple attempts of changing my settings changing tabs and even exiting league and re-entering it the 'glitch' would not go away. this is however only a one off incident that I have encountered.
