Fog of War Mechanics Causing Packet Loss
theory: the client side hides enemy champ info so that the player cannot peek at people thru assembly data
conclusion: when someone comes out of fog of war all that data hits the players client all at once.
examination: on WiFi the packet loss will ensure a halfway decent gank will 100% succeed as the player will experience lag for a brief moment on the onset of the engagement allowing opposing players to land skill shots and close gaps. i have always noticed this since day 1, but with the server move it became much more severe, coming up from fractions of a second to sometimes up to 2 or more full seconds.
witnessed: this became such a steady occurrence that i myself quit league because the house im living in does not have Ethernet cable.
