Hecarim E Toggle?

Was playing an ARAM as Hecarim and suddenly my E (Devastating Charge) got the 'toggle' animation and was set to a cooldown of 10 seconds, which wasn't counting down. I have no idea what I did to get this to happen, but it was very annoying as I couldnt charge for the last 20 minutes of the game. Help?
