Update failed

I'm also having the same issue it played fine yesterday went to login today it starts to scan 1 file goes to 33% stays there for like 2 min and then tells me i have an error and i need to check the logs to figure it out

I legit patched yesterday, and played a game like 2 hours ago

Welp, I'm in the same boat as all of you...

I am also having the same issue. I re logged because my health bar was invisible (Not Red) and so I re logged to fix it. Then this patching thing happened and I could not get into game... They remade and I took the loss. I really don't think that this is fair at all.

Even redownloading doesn't work. Repair doesn't work. Good thing I didnt want to play today lol

Same Issue. The odd thing is that I played a game maybe an hour or so ago, with no problems. I ate lunch, came back to log in and it auto goes to 33% and then says "update failed: unspecified error occurred." Help please!

Anyone know anything new about this issue as of yet? Still not working on my end.

Same issue here. Definitely not my computer settings, given that if I switch the region to EU West (from NA) it connects perfectly fine.

I have the same issue. I tried reinstalling but that didn't fix it. Anyone have a fix yet?

Same...played yesterday just fine and now this. I swear every time I wanna play there's a damn patch. What are you doing riot....Not even any patch notes.

I had the same issue. Based on previous Unspecified Error issues, I tried a simple fix, and it worked...

1. Change your server to a different region.
2. Relaunch the game to have it update versus the other region.
3. Change back to your region.
4. Launch and play as normal.

The server I used was EU West, but I suspect most any [not your own] region will work.

I dont know if it will work for everyone, but i opened league as an administrator and patched it and it worked. I tried without admin and it didnt so hopefully itll work for you guys. GL

POTENTIAL FIX!!!!!!

I was having the same problem. I have windows 8 and my windows defender wasnt allowing league to open. I went into settings and added the league file for an exclusion so windows defender wont scan it. It worked for me. Hopefully this helps you all.

It happened to me when I was in game and my client crashed, lost my series as a result since the game wouldn't restart. Wish there was a way to get the game back :/

Honestly this always happens to my client. The two things that ever work, is check to make sure you don't have a lock file. If so, delete it and leave your files open so if another one appears you can delete it again. Also Google your problem and videos will come up telling you certain folders to try and delete. If none of this works, I delete and reinstall league about 3 times. It's the struggle. Pls fix your client league. </3

I am having the same issue. Currently , I am repairing my client to see if that works.

Make 2 files, SOFT_REPAIR and S_OK (just make *.txt file and rename it to SOFT_REPAIR, so it won't have resolution). Put ONLY S_OK in "Riot Games\League of Legends\RADS\projects\lol_game_client\releases\highest number folder" AND in "Riot Games\League of Legends\RADS\projects\lol_game_client_your language\releases\highest number folder". "Riot Games\League of Legends\RADS\projects\lol_air_client\releases\highest number folder" should be w.o. any S_OK and SOFT_REPAIR files in it and so as "Riot Games\League of Legends\RADS\solutions\lol_game_client_sln\releases\highest number folder". Start via lol.launcher.exe, client will patch lol_air_client folder. When patching will be done, close client. Now you need to patch your lol_game_client folder. Simply add SOFT_REPAIR into "Riot Games\League of Legends\RADS\projects\lol_game_client\releases\highest number folder" and start via lol.launcher.exe. It will sing a song about corrupted files and patch lol_game_client folder. This process can bugsplat or just freeze so you will need to add S_OK and SOFT_REPAIR files again. Do the same with lol_game_client_en_gb or w.e. your language is. Sorry if it will be too hard to understand, I am not a good writer, just explained my usual patching process. Old client had no such problems.
