Liandry's is meant to trigger on spell damage, but the Gromp smite passive of poison on being hit is being treated as a spell by it and applying the DoT

"Poison" isn't a damage type, it's a flavor description of some spell damage. Still spell damage.

To clarify what types there are, there's; Magic(spell), Physical, True, Pure(fountain laser). I believe that's it.
