[GAMEPLAY] Warwick's ultimate can be cancelled by Ekko's E.
If Ekko uses the second part of his E ( the blink/flash ) and Warwick hits him during the cast time with his ultimate then the ultimate gets instantly cancelled and goes on cooldown.

Do you maybe have a replay of this?
Are you sure Ekko didn't pull Warwick into his W?
Warwick is only unstoppable while he is leaping to his target. Once Warwick starts clawing his target, the ultimate can be stopped with a stun or other crowd control. It's quite possible that after landing Warwick was hit with CC which canceled the ultimate.
