I got placed in ranked flex silver 5, I then continued to play flex a few days later after maintenance. I queued up with a buddy of mine, We won and it proceeded to say, You have been Placed at Bronze 5. Is this a glitch? I have no clue what happened.
No, they said there was 1 more additional placement like a day ago. Don't you read the notifications at the top of the screen?

Because of the MMR mismatch in Flex Queue, you got reseted to the original starting point(pre placements). But remember this is only Preseason, the rank you accomplish now **WILL BE RESETED AGAIN! ** The rank you get in preseason does only influnece the placement in Season 7 to a SMALL extend! Sidenote: 1-2 Tier drops are completely normal in preseason.
I.E.: You were Plat 5 at the end of the season, were placed high Silver after placements, now got placed low Silver. If you now climb to Plat again, you will then only be placed in low Gold at the start of Season 7!
So dont worry to much about the current placement!
What about me my 1 additional game for placments was a remake and it counted as a broze level loss and dropped me from g3 to silver 3 then my next game dropped me to silver4....
Lol, so, I'm a platinum player. 7-3 in placements and was given gold 5. Won the next game, "Congratulations, your placement is Silver 1,"? Lol WE GOING DA WRONNG WAY
I won 7 of my 10 games, got placed in silver 4. Was kind of annoyed but whatever. Then I played another a day later and it demoted me to bronze 5 even though I won and did exceptionally good in the match. Like i'm at a loss of words on how to react to this.

Same exact thing here. I did well in placements, won 8/10. Got Silver 3, then after the reset/maintenance I played my 1 match to resume rank, won it and did very well. Then got Demoted to Bronze 5 0LP. That doesn't make sense! Way to discourage even before the season starts. =\
It is because of the fix to the Flex placements... Flex was placing people way too high as it goes off of your rank that you ended with last season. You ended in Bronze 5 and after your placements was placed in Silver 5. Unless you went 10-0 or got very lucky with the matchmaking moving up a whole tier is far fetched. The fix just simply corrected you to the proper ranking. I was Gold 4 and now in Flex am Silver 3 after going 6-4 in the placements, you usually drop down a tier not move up one.
