Viktor vs Malzahar

I was playing as Viktor against Malz in team builder quite recently so it was on the new SR. When i used my e (the super lazor thingy) it never seemed to hit Malz. I could be missing but it seemed to go through him one time. Probably my aim but possible matchup bug maybe.
