Extreme fps drops leading to bluescreen of death

EDIT: everything seems to be working now, i don't know what happened

I have been playing league for some time now, and i could have expected issues with the new patch on my old pc, as every new content update made it harder to keep 60 fps. 2 months ago i brought a new computer, i7 processor, 8 gb ram, a nvidia 940 mx and ssd. As expected i had some amazingly smooth gameplay now, way superior to my old pc, keeping high framerates across all games i tried out recently.

Then preseason 8 hit, the new runes came out, and it was great to see a new patch without having to worry about fps drops. Everything seemed ok, i had my steady 80 fps (i keep it capped and with low settings, as i am used to them, and i find the ultra high too fancy) but experienced strange issues when loading for a game, the client would like minimize to icon and then pop up again many times until i got into the game, so i just alt tabbed the loading screen and waited until i heard the spawn sound, alt tabbed again to get into the game and played league.

Last week i wanted to ply with a friend and that was the first time i got serious problems. all of sudden after spawning i had framerates that changed every second, jumping between 250+ and less than 20. At the same time the screen would freeze for like half a second whenever a jump in framerate occured.

After less than a minute i got a blue screen of death, so i rebooted the computer, opened the client once again and tried to load the game. Same problem. The third time it was worse and even faster, i got a blue screen after 10 to 15 seconds. I was getting angry, so i forced the client to log out and shut down my pc. Tried to repair the client from the options. Went into a game and had the same damn fps jumps again, followed by blue screens again. Uninstalled LoL. Tried reinstalling it today, played 5-6 games with no issues while always alt tabbing the loading screen. went to smoke on the last loading screen, came back and found the same issue once again.

Now i don't know what to do, only LoL has issues running. Tried updating directx and the graphic card drivers. Nothing changed.

I suppose i got leaverbuster once again because i could not play. Wrote it in chat before the first bluesreen occurred, and people laughed at me telling me that my machine has to be crap then. Tried to keep calm, stayed in game, explained the issue, someone told me to try to reboot cause it worked for him. So i tried rebooting. It was way worse now, i couldn't interact at all.

And now i am writing this down, hoping that someone reads this and maybe has had the same issue and fixed it (wich i highly doubt, but who knows) I did look for a post like this, and people all across the forum complained about framerates, but no one seemed to have a problem like mine, they had lower fps, not no fps at all and bluescreens.

Ps: i have a foto somewhere of the bluescreen error, when i find it i will add it, said something like video tr failure

UPDATE: seems like in a custom game everything works fine, wanted to record my screen to show what happens, but in custom everything works fine. will try a normal now. wish me luck :P

Hi, have you tried to contact riot support yet? Sometimes they can help with things like you are describing. You can also try to check how much GB is left in the hard drive (I think that's what it's called) to see if it's too high since it can cause performance issues. However in terms of exactly helping to solve the issue I don't know how since I personally have never encountered the blue screen issue and the high fps to low fps. When do the fps drops occur. Does it only drop in teamfights or is it just at around 10-15s right before the blue screen? Also, did you do anything or did anything happen before this issue? Did it only occur after you downloaded the preseason patch? Also, many people usually get more issues with fps, ping, etc. around the preseason since there is a ton of change that goes into the game. Also, I know that there was a windows update, at least for me, yesterday which could cause glitches for you and other people (It did for me, my fps is now 40 max, I will probably contact riot support about this issue). Also, other things to consider is, do you use any other background apps (idk if that's what they are called) when you run league of legends. Like, do you use curse voice (I think it's twitch now or something), team speak, discord or do you have you tube open (it can occasional cause fps issues).
