"Game in Progress" screen [Client]

I play on a Mac. I've heard this might be an issue. The game even gave me a very innocent looking message that said they were patching between old and new versions or something. But, if I had known this would happen, I wouldn't have played. Because I am a very casual player and waiting 10 minutes for one game is a little bit much. So, yeah, warnings would've been nice. I tried to play a game and I selected my champion and waited for the game screen to load. But nothing happened after the timer finished and after a few seconds the home screen became a "Game in Progress" screen with no reconnect button. I quit the app, reloaded, signed in, and got the reconnect button but it just went back to a game in progress screen after clicking. I had to shut down my computer, then reload the app, and after signing in it told me I had the lower priority queue leaver buster thing. I'm pretty sure this is a client issue as there's nothing wrong with my internet connection and the app itself ran fine up until this point. I just tested it again and same issue.

Is there anyway to get the leaverbuster removed in these situations/how long will the leaverbuster take to be removed by either time or game plays?

Is there anyway for me to know whether this bug has been fixed, so I don't unfairly end up with an even worse penalty.
