Problems connecting to games

Right so...

For about 2 weeks I've had problems connecting to games which I believe has nothing to do with my hardware or connection. I've been playing League normally and smoothly in the past with no problems but recently it's become unplayable and I've gotten an AFK ban as a result. The Problem: After champion select when the game is about to initiate the loading screen an error message saying the game could not connect and asking me if I would like to reconnect appears. No matter how many times I press this button and attempt to reconnect to the game, it will not reconnect. The screen goes black for a moment only to go back to the client with the error message asking me if I would like to reconnect again. Now if I close League of Legends **the client does not recognize that I am still in a game **. I can go to attempt to start a search for another game which will not work obviously, but the client isn't recognizing I should actually have the option from the client to reconnect to the game via the loading screen. To make things even more frustrating, if I close the client completely and restart league of legends from login. The client still does not realise I'm currently in a game Sometimes I eventually get into the game late but for the most part -not at all when this happens. This error with connecting only ever happens maybe every 3/4 games I try to start? I've checked my connection, all my drivers are up to date. Like I said I've been playing League on this system for years with no problems. But now when I start up the game its like winning the lottery if I actually manage to connect and I have a 20 minute afk ban because I physically cannot connect to games...
