[CRASH] Victory/Defeat animation bugsplat
I've seen a few threads on this but none of those were properly formatted bug submission reports so I decided to do a formal one because even though I do not experience this issue, about 4 different people I play with do.
After patch 5.5 was implemented with the new Victory and Defeat animations at the end of a match, a number of users have been experiencing a bugsplat upon the nexus getting destroyed which states "Ran out of memory" and closes the game and then displays the post game lobby without actually playing the new animation.
Reproducibility: Some users will have this issue every game, others will have it intermitantly and what seems like the majority will not experience it.
Steps to recreate:
- Launch a normal 5v5 match on Summoners Rift.
- Play the match to completion where one nexus explodes.
- When the new animated victory/defeat banner should appear the game will bugsplat for some users.
Troubleshooting Methods Attempted:
- Restarting LoL
- Restarting PC
- Running repair from LoL Launcher
Variety of systems affected: I have been able to verify with users that are experiencing this issue that it can occur in systems with 4GB, 8GB, and 16GB of system RAM (most likely others as well but I can't verify that). I have also taken note that it can occur in systems using integrated video (Intel HD Graphics/AMD APU) as well as dedicated graphics cards featuring 1GB, 2GB, and 4GB of VRAM (Again, I assume it can occur on other cards as well, but can't verify). Due the variety of systems affected I would assume that the system is not actually running out of memory, but there may be a tempermental call in the coding which can cause issues on certain systems or a buffer variable that isnt set high enough.
