Can't see trinket when left-clicking a teammate

When I was playing a bot game with my friend, I noticed that I can't see their trinket if I left-click their champion. He said the same thing when he clicked me, so it's not just my computer that's causing this. Is it a bug or am I just missing something obvious? I could see the trinket if I pressed tab but not while left clicked. It's a minor bug but still, it's really annoying. I don't have any screenshots of this, so you'll just have to believe me.
