yikes I havent heard that one. Once I used the fix, my launcher acted as though I had already finished the update and I was able to play. The very next time I closed and relaunched LoL I got a msg that something had been corrupted and was being fixed. Since that the game has worked perfectly for me. One thing I left out of the fix that I did was to replace the file where it already exists with the one I copied from the recent patch. So I not only added that file where it was missing(in the places stated) but I also replaced the existing file if there was one to be found, instead of just adding a second version.
My guess, from the idiot that is me, is that the fix is imperfect and that for whatever reason my game was able to correct its mistakes while yours is not. I can only give you advice of what I would do in your shoes.
I would uninstall/reinstall 1st. Riot may have put out a fix already and it will all go smoothly. If you run into the same problem again I suggest you let the installer sit at 33% for a solid 15 mins before you close and retry the fix. When you retry the fix make sure and go to every location in the instructions and not only add the file where it is missing but also replace the existing one where it exists.
My guess(being forced to make one) is that maybe the way you carried out the fix was the problem. The way I did it may have been just enough better that while it was still imperfect the game was able to figure out how to correct my mistakes while yours is not.
