No reconnect screen

I was in a ranked game and everything was perfectly fine until somewhere near 10:00 into the game, my ms was stuck at 500 and i couldn't do anything so i decided to force quit and relog. When i logged back in, it didn't take me the reconnect screen, instead it took me to the home page where you would normally be when you log on. I could start a new game even though my current game wasn't near 15 or 20. This is the second time it had happened to me. I'm just concerned if i'm going to get punished for this.
