Just a question about how the Autofill Protected works

I just noticed that there is a problem with the Autofill Protected system. Although i play support quite often, i now put the roles top and jungle in case i get akali. IF not then i ask if i can support and most of the time it's someone autofilled so they give me the role. The thing is, is that although we change roles and i play support, i do not receive the Autofill Protected status because i was assigned top / jungle and not support. Can riot fix this easily? It seems quite easy to fix. You could call it a bug so i could it in that category.
