Zyra's E stops moving at first minion hit.

Not sure what to make of this. Usually Zyra's E will penetrate through a wave of minions until it reaches the maximum range, but occasionally it will stop at the first minion it hits. Often it is when it kills the minion. It seems rather inconsistent. Anybody have any thoughts?
