Singed Q active toggle animation stops displaying

Singed's Q icon would stop displaying the "active" animation on the ability icon after a short period of time leaving it on (15-30 seconds it seemed) in my last ARAM game. It made it difficult (more difficult than it should have been) to make sure my Poison Trail was on in team fights. The trail would remain on in game. If I clicked it off, the trail would turn off. I tried several times, and the "active" animation kept turning off after a while.
