Game not launching after champ select

Is anyone else having the issue where after champion select the game doesn't launch and you are stuck with the window that says "game in progress". The only way that I have found that i can get into the game is if i restart my computer. i have tried closing League and rebooting it. Task manager doesn't even recognise that the client is open. It is getting frustrating when i have to restart my computer because by the time i get into the game its past the 7 min mark and I have lost my lane or if I'm support my ad carry is behind with 1-4 deaths. Does anyone know if Riot knows of this or if anyone has some solutions

Thank god i've found this post. This happened to me too since 3-4 days and it's so annoying, every time i have to end the game process from task manager and then restart Lol, a I lose around 2 mins in-game which causes me to lose my lane/ if it takes more than 3 mins then I risk getting a ban as my teammates will remake.

Little late to the party, but I've been having the same problem for about a week now. I thought that after Patch 9.15 came out, the problem would be resolved. Unfortunately not.

The problem I have is that I've used the taskmanager every time; however, that solution doesn't work. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the client, but that didn't work either. The only thing I've found to work, in my case at least, is to reboot my computer. Rebooting my computer takes too long and I end up losing any rewards from the match.

Now, on a side note, I have also been experiencing massive ping spikes during my games as well. My ping usually sits at about 60ms at "off time" and about 120ms during peak usage times. That, however, doesn't explain the games where I experience (round about) 30 sec ping spikes that shoot my ping anywhere from 200ms to 500ms. There was one match to where my pings shot up to 3000ms. Is this related to the current discussion or is it a topic for another board?

Guess what? It's getting even worse for me. It used to happen randomly but now I get it every single god damn game. Every time I gotta go into task manager and end the process and reconnect, it's utterly annoying.

The only way to solve this is by Long Off ur PC but when u return to the Match , Game automatic punish u with have more then 5 Minutes afk and will not have any experience or IP won.

Same problem here.

For reference my internet is a smooth 14ms to google's servers, and my pc's pretty good, so not problem on that part. Also it happened twice to me, over 5 days, so maybe 2 games in 30 or something like that.

As for what happens, here's the rundown :

So I select my role, launch the queue, find a game, accept, get in the lobby, pick a champion, wait for everyone to pick a champion, then when the gamer proper is meant to launch ... nothing. The lobby goes to the "try to reconnect" screen and impossible to load in, clicking the button just does nothing.

Then of course the game is remade and at that moment the lobby goes to post-game lobby, for me to enjoy that warning about being afk and my lp losses.

You can launch a game just after that if you're not tilted by riot's incompetence and cross your fingers not to get that 6% chance of having the game not launching. Yes 2 games out of 30 is that big of an occurrence.

Task manager can fix it (each time, but still requires game restart) but you can't just kill the main LoL thread. That will cause the client to shut down, but leave other threads from the main game running so if you relaunch it won't fix. Go through and end task on ALL league threads, which there will be 3-6 usually i've found. If i kill them all, then restart the game, it will automatically launch the actual game window. Still end up joining shortly after game start (within 1-2 minutes) but better than having to restart the computer first which will probably mean your team has to remake and you might get a ban

Ya mine is only in ranked games tho so i lose lp from it and i cant climb because it happens so often @riot please fix your game

task manager DOES recognize it, go to background processes and kill the league game (not client) then press reconnect
