Ranked Game doesn’t load for 20 minutes?

I went into queue for a ranked game. I selected my champion and sure enough the servers were down. It said it couldn’t connect and sent me out of my game. Due to this I decided to go to bed. I came back to realize that 20 minutes later the game it said I wasn’t in randomly started, and I lost lp in the process. I wasn’t the only player. The system tricked me. How is that fair?
