Is it normal that my beta client lacks some animations or the option to change your ingame settings?

I was in the alpha client. When the preseason hit my regular laucher started to take me to the now beta client instead. However there are some things missing.

1. When I change back to the old client, I can't find an option to switch back to the beta, I have to close and open the client again.

2. While I'm waiting for a match, there are no flappy animation in the banner(?) thingy bellow my icon

3. There are no animation when I enter champion select

4. The animation that shows who got assinged what lane is not there either

5. I can't find anywhere in the client where I can change my in-game settings

I've already repaired the client (using the button inside the beta) and made sure that the "Disable animations" checkbox was unchecked
