HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?

How can Karthus hit crit on his Q ability so far from center, I'm latterly on the edge of it. Can someone explain this to me???

It has nothing to do with how far from the center you are. If the ability only hits one target it will do double damage.
Karthus's Q, Lay Waste, deals double damage when it hits a single target. It has nothing to do with your position within the circle.
Karthus crit is not based on distance from center. The picture shows that you are the only one being hit by the q, and that is what it takes to trigger the crit. From the wiki: "After a 0.5-second delay, Karthus detonates the target area in the cursor's direction, dealing Ability power magic damage to all enemies within, doubled when hitting only one target."
