Clash wont let me invite friends that are online

It's as the title says. For some reason clash won't let me invite any of the people I want to invite on my friends list to a team. I don't know if this has to do with the larger issue of my friends list being extremely fucked up with everyone just jammed into one folder and me being unable to move them, but it's annoying.
