Hecarim's [E] will occasionally knock targets in the wrong direction.

Thank you for bringing this up. I play Hecarim a fair amount, and his E is incredibly unreliable. This isn't a rare problem--it usually happens to me at least once a game.
I think the issue mostly stems from his passive, which allows him to ignore unit collision. Since Hec's E is pretty much melee range, he frequently ends up in a situation where he is slightly "inside" the enemy champion's hitbox when he starts the animation, knocking them in a totally unpredictable direction. It's doubly punishing, because the animation is a small dash that moves hecarim in whatever direction he is facing. So you will sometimes end up in a situation where it knocks the enemy in the opposite direction that it moves hecarim.
You might say, "well, use the ability when you are behind the target instead of inside their hitbox." Ok. But there's a slight lag between when the animation starts and the knockback is applied. So even if you are actually behind the target when the animation starts, if they are walking backwards, you can still end up inside their hit box by the time the knockback is actually calculated and applied.
It should knock enemies in whatever direction hecarim is facing when he starts the animation, instead of knocking them "back." I'm pretty sure this would completely solve the issue.
Wait, so it knocks them... behind you? Are you sure you're not just hitting them at the wrong time?
Sometimes it'll happen to jungle creeps if you target them with your charge on right as you obtain vision. I've lost quite a few kills because his [E] will bug out at the most inopportune times.
Meh. Backwards knockbacks are nearly as trolly as helicopter
, so I'd be fine with leaving it. However, I don't really play Heca so I wouldn't know.
